GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police authorities are investigating the brutal killing of a 31-year-old tricycle driver who was gunned down inside his own home in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City.

The victim was identified as Amor Manonggol Galukan, a resident of Purok 5, Olarte Millionaires Village. According to initial reports from Police Station 2, the incident happened at around 11:50 a.m. on Monday, September 29, while Galukan was inside his residence.

Police said an unidentified suspect entered the house and shot the victim at close range, hitting him in the neck and head. Galukan died instantly. After the attack, the gunman immediately fled aboard a motorcycle towards an unknown direction.

Police Major Miguel Angelo Quidilla, station commander of Police Station 2, said investigators are now reviewing possible CCTV footage in the area and gathering statements from neighbors to trace the suspect’s movements. He added that all angles are being considered, including personal relations, work-related matters, and possible business dealings of the victim.

“It appears that the victim was deliberately targeted, as the suspect went inside the house and shot him outright,” Quidilla noted.

Authorities are closely coordinating with barangay officials and other law enforcement agencies to obtain more evidence. Police also appealed to residents who may have information about the assailant to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Galukan’s killing has left the community in shock, with residents expressing fear over the brazenness of the crime committed in broad daylight inside a private home.

Police assured the victim’s family that they are exerting all efforts to identify and arrest the suspect to bring justice to the slain tricycle driver.
