MARAMAG, BUKIDNON — A young child lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run incident in Purok 1B, Camp One, Maramag, Bukidnon, around midday on Monday.
According to initial reports, the child was struck by a vehicle between 11:20 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. The driver, instead of stopping to render assistance, immediately fled the scene. Witnesses said the suspect vehicle could not be clearly identified due to blurred CCTV footage in the area.
The victim’s relatives, in a public social media post, expressed their grief and called on the driver to take responsibility. “The child did not survive. Hopefully, you will not escape the pain our family feels now. Please surrender to the nearest station so justice can be served,” the post read.
Residents have also appealed to the public to help share information that may lead to the identification of the driver. The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many demanding accountability for the innocent life lost.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and urging the driver to surrender voluntarily. They also appealed to anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist in the search for justice.
