IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay — Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident that took place in Purok Pluto, Barangay Bangkerohan, on Sunday.
Initial police investigation revealed that the victims were on their way home aboard a Bajaj RE after attending prayers at their mosque when two unidentified assailants approached them and opened fire.
Witnesses described the gunmen as riding in tandem, with the driver wearing a black jacket and the back rider—who allegedly fired the shots—wearing a black T-shirt and a face mask.
The suspects immediately fled towards the direction of Barangay Magdaup after the attack, leaving the victims wounded on the roadside. Rescuers rushed the two to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities are pursuing leads to identify and arrest the perpetrators as investigations continue.
