KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Government forces seized high-powered firearms in a joint Support to Law Enforcement Operation (SLEO) against suspected gun smugglers in Barangay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
The operation, led by the 38th Infantry (We Clear) Battalion under the command of Lt. Col. Erwin E. Felongco INF (GSC) PA and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 12, resulted in the confiscation of the following items:
- One (1) M4A1 Carbine Rifle (SN 24022706) with a magazine and 15 live rounds
- One (1) Norinco 1911 ACP Cal.45 Pistol (SN 812573) with a magazine and 7 live rounds
Authorities said the successful law enforcement operation demonstrates the continuing commitment of the military and police to curb the proliferation of loose firearms and related illegal activities in South Cotabato.
Lt. Col. Felongco commended the troops and their partner units for their professionalism, stressing that collaborative actions of the military and law enforcement significantly enhance peace and security in local communities.
The 38th Infantry Battalion assured the public of its steadfast support to law enforcement agencies in sustaining peace, order, and the rule of law across the province.
