KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Two suspected drug personalities were arrested while another managed to flee during a buy-bust operation conducted on Sunday night, August 4, 2025, in Barangay Zone 3.
Joint operatives of the Koronadal City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, under the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), carried out the anti-illegal drug operation at around 10:59 PM in Purok Bumanaag.
Arrested were alias “Tor,” 58, a mechanic from Barangay Zone 4, and alias “Vice,” 51, from Barangay Zone 3. Both suspects are reportedly listed in the Station Level Illegal Drug Watchlist.
Another suspect, identified as alias “Tisoy,” eluded arrest by fleeing into a poorly lit area and remains at large.
Authorities recovered four heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱102,340, along with a marked ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The suspects are currently in police custody at the Koronadal City Police Station pending the filing of appropriate criminal charges.
Police Regional Office 12 Director PBGEN Romeo J. Macapaz commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated response, emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“This successful operation sends a clear message that illegal drug activities have no place in our communities,” Macapaz said in a statement.
