BUTUAN CITY – A man identified only as alias Balolong, a resident of Purok 3 Kamungay, Barangay Maon, is now facing multiple charges after allegedly firing a gun in a nearby area on Saturday morning, August 23, 2025.
According to reports, the suspect was accused of discharging his firearm in Purok 5 Ube, still in Barangay Maon, at around 7:00 a.m., causing alarm among residents.
Authorities from the Butuan City Mobile Force Company (BCMFC) immediately responded to the incident, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Seized from his possession were a Smith & Wesson caliber .357 Magnum revolver and a bolo.
Police said the suspect will be facing charges for Illegal Discharge of Firearm, Alarm and Scandal, and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The suspect is currently under police custody while further investigation is underway.
