GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XII dismantled a drug den and arrested five individuals in a joint operation at Barangay Fatima, General Santos City, late Friday morning.

The raid, carried out at around 11:50 a.m., was led by PDEA-12’s Regional Special Enforcement Team in coordination with the PDEA Sarangani-Gensan Provincial Office, PDEA-12 Airport Interdiction Unit, and the General Santos City Police Office–Police Station 7.

Authorities identified the suspects as Alias Julius, 30, den maintainer and a known recidivist; Alias Jake, 38, den employee; Alias Faith, 23, visitor; Alias Alfie, 43, driver and visitor; and Alias Pablito, 41, driver and visitor. All are residents of General Santos City.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of about eight grams of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia, including lighters, aluminum-foil tooters and strips with residue, a roll of aluminum foil, a bamboo sealer, and marked buy-bust money.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA-12 Regional Director Benjamin Recites III lauded the successful operation, stressing the agency’s commitment to suppressing the illegal drug trade.

“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to eradicating drug operations through intelligence-driven, coordinated enforcement, and urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity as part of the collective fight against illegal drugs,” Recites said.

The arrested suspects are currently under PDEA-12 custody pending the filing of formal charges.
