KABACAN, NORTH COTABATO – Two men were killed after being shot multiple times by unidentified gunmen on Friday night, August 22, 2025, in Sitio Dima, Barangay Lower Paatan, Kabacan, North Cotabato.
The victims were identified as Ali, also known as “Kli,” and Abdulsatar, also known as “Seta”, both residents of Barangay Dungguan, M’lang, Cotabato.
Initial investigation revealed that the two were riding together on a blue motorcycle when they were waylaid by armed suspects along the road in Sitio Dima. Without warning, the gunmen opened fire, hitting the victims several times and causing their instant deaths.
Responding personnel from the Kabacan Municipal Police Station immediately cordoned off the crime scene and began gathering evidence. Authorities also confirmed that the victims came from M’lang town, but the exact motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Police investigators are now conducting follow-up operations to establish the identities of the assailants and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
As of this writing, the Kabacan PNP has yet to issue an official statement on possible leads, while the brutal killing has heightened tension in the area.
