KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The City Government of Koronadal has officially opened its newly constructed City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), a modern facility designed to enhance the city’s readiness and response in times of emergencies.



Strategically located just behind the City Hall building, the new CDRRMO boasts a fully equipped radio room for efficient communication during crises, a spacious conference hall for coordination meetings, and state-of-the-art equipment to aid in disaster response operations.
CDRRMO head Cyrus Jose Urbano expressed his gratitude to the city government for its unwavering support of the office’s programs and mission. “This facility is more than just a building—it is a symbol of our commitment to safeguarding lives and property. With the resources we have now, we can respond faster and work more effectively in any situation,” Urbano said.
The blessing and inauguration ceremony was attended by city officials, force multipliers, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (MDRRMOs) from various municipalities in South Cotabato. The event highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring community safety and resilience.
With the new facility in place, Koronadal City strengthens its capability to manage disasters, whether natural or man-made, ensuring that its residents can rely on a well-prepared and responsive local government when it matters most.
