OZAMIZ CITY — A 43-year-old bus conductor, known by the alias “John,” was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Barangay Gango, on Thursday afternoon, August 29, 2025, despite persistent rains.
Police operatives confiscated five sachets of suspected shabu, a cigarette case, and ₱500 in marked buy-bust money during the operation held at around 2:30 p.m. The arrest was witnessed by barangay officials, a Department of Justice representative, and members of the local media.
The suspect, married and a resident of Barangay San Antonio, is now detained at the Ozamiz City Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The anti-drug operation was led by Police Captain Alphi P. Sabaduquia under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Harvey S. Abellanosa, with support from the Asenso Ozamiz Administration under the leadership of Mayor Sam Norman G. Fuentes.
