OZAMIZ CITY – A first-year Marine Engineering student was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation on Friday evening, August 15, in Purok 5, Barangay Malaubang.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by PCPT Roland Y. Cagas, the 2nd PMFC, and the Ozamiz City Police Station.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Alvin,” 18, and a resident of Barangay Malingao, Tubod, Lanao del Norte, was caught after selling suspected shabu worth ₱500 to a police poseur-buyer.
Upon body search, operatives recovered 14 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, weighing around four grams with an estimated street value of ₱27,200.
Police reported that the suspect is currently enrolled at a school in Ozamiz City and boards near Cebedo Extension.
In an off-camera conversation, the young man admitted to using shabu. He is now under police custody and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
