TBOLI, South Cotabato – Government forces successfully recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during an intelligence-driven operation in Barangay Tbolok on Friday, August 8, 2025.

The 105th Infantry “Saifullah” Battalion (105IB), under the leadership of Lt. Col. Erikzen C. Dacoco and operational control of the 603rd Infantry “Persuader” Brigade, launched the operation following reports from reliable informants about the presence of explosives in the area.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, 105IB troops recovered the IEDs, which were linked to Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) formerly operating in the province. The explosives are now in the custody of the 105IB for proper disposal.

Lt. Col. Dacoco lauded both the vigilance of the community and the professionalism of his soldiers in neutralizing potential threats.
“Through shared vigilance, we are able to prevent harm and maintain peace in our area of responsibility, especially in South Cotabato,” he said.

Brig. Gen. Santos commended the battalion for its quick action and called on the public to remain alert and cooperative with security forces.
“The recovery of these IEDs underscores the importance of proactive intelligence work and strong community ties. We will continue to intensify our security efforts to keep South Cotabato safe,” he stressed.

Authorities continue to urge residents to report suspicious activities or items to prevent threats to public safety.
