MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON — Twelve assorted firearms were turned over to authorities after three former rebels (FRs) voluntarily surrendered to the government and availed themselves of the Task Force Balik-Loob Program.

The turnover ceremony was led by Police Colonel Jovit Lontac Culaway, Provincial Director of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office, and was held at Camp Captain Ramon M. Onahon in Malaybalay City.

The activity was attended by Ms. Shella Marie C. Albarece, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) representative; Police Major Romar Jones T. Cahucom, Chief of the Provincial Logistics Unit; and First Lieutenant Danica Rose T. de Leon, Logistics Officer of the 88th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

The surrendered firearms will be processed in accordance with government protocols as part of efforts to promote peace and security in the province. Authorities lauded the FRs’ decision to return to the fold of the law and contribute to the continuing peace initiatives in Bukidnon.
