San Martin, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental — July 25, 2025 — Law enforcement authorities confiscated two unlicensed firearms in a successful implementation of two separate search warrants in Barangay Kalagonoy, Gingoog City, as part of the ongoing crackdown on illegal possession of firearms under Republic Act 10591.

Led by PMAJ Ralph S. Santoluma, Officer-in-Charge and Force Commander of the 1st Misamis Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (MOR PMFC), and in coordination with the Gingoog City Police Station, the joint operation was conducted on the residence of a suspect identified only as alias “Nold,” 38 years old, male, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Kalagonoy.

The operation was carried out following the issuance of two search warrants — SW-23-2025 for House B and a separate warrant for House A — by Hon. Mirabeaus A. Undalok, Presiding Judge of RTC-10, Branch 43, Gingoog City, on July 21, 2025.

Seized Evidence:

From House A:

  • One (1) unit of .22 caliber rifle with serial number RP 202594, marked SS-1.

From House B:

  • One (1) unit of .22 caliber rifle without a serial number.
  • One (1) empty shell of .22 caliber.
  • One (1) live ammunition for .38 caliber.
  • One hundred (100) pieces of silver .22 caliber ammunition.
  • One (1) empty green box marked “Super Accurate Airgun Pellets.”
  • One (1) unit of .38 caliber pistol with serial number 125402.

PCOL Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), praised the operation as a model of effective law enforcement:

“This successful implementation of two search warrants against the illegal possession of firearms under RA 10591 is a strong testament to our sustained campaign against criminality. Our commitment and competence reflect our resolve to apprehend law violators. This is not an isolated effort but part of our continued service to the people and dedication to peace and order in the province,” he said.

Authorities are urging the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts for a safer and more peaceful community.

The confiscated firearms and ammunition are now in police custody, while further investigation and legal proceedings against the suspect are underway.
