During the meeting, JICA introduced priority projects for Davao Oriental, such as the proposed establishment of an Eco-Park aimed at promoting sustainable solid waste management, and the development of a new airport designed to boost mobility, logistics, and economic access within the province.

“Davao Oriental has very excellent natural resources and eco-tourism. That’s why we should promote it,” said Mr. Ken, expressing strong support for the province’s tourism sector. His remarks align with Governor Dayanghirang’s 10-point governance agenda, which places tourism development at the forefront.

The discussion highlighted a shared commitment to positioning Davao Oriental as a key regional player in infrastructure modernization, sustainable tourism, and long-term economic growth. Governor Dayanghirang expressed appreciation for JICA’s technical expertise and strategic collaboration, noting that the Master Plan will serve as a vital roadmap for elevating the province’s development trajectory.
