Butuan City – Authorities from Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13) confiscated over ₱120,000 worth of suspected shabu in two separate anti-drug operations conducted in the early hours of July 11 in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, and Butuan City.

Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of PRO-13, confirmed the success of the operations, which led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of illegal drugs and various drug paraphernalia.

The first operation was carried out by operatives from the Bayugan City Police Station at around 3:30 AM in Barangay Taglatawan. The suspect, identified only by his alias “Longlong,” 27 years old and a resident of the area, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation. Authorities seized from him 14 sachets of suspected shabu weighing more than 7 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱53,000. Police also recovered ₱1,000 in marked money used in the operation.

Shortly after, at 4:21 AM, personnel from Butuan City Police Station 2 launched another buy-bust in Barangay Fort Poyohon. The suspect, known by the alias “Deo,” 40 years old and a resident of Barangay Maug, Butuan City, was arrested after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover operative.

Confiscated from “Deo” were 10 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately ₱68,000, a black sling bag, a brown coin purse, ₱500 in marked money, a weighing scale, a mobile phone, and an improvised water pipe.

“These back-to-back operations demonstrate PRO-13’s intensified campaign to curb the illegal drug trade in Caraga,” said PBGen Abrahano. “Our commitment remains strong in ensuring that our communities are safe and free from the scourge of illegal drugs.”

The two suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
