Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte | July 23, 2025 — In a strong show of international support for peace and development in Mindanao, four foreign ambassadors paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) of the Philippine Army.

Major General Donald M. Gumiran, Commander of the 6ID and JTFC, warmly welcomed the diplomatic delegation composed of:
- Her Excellency Constance See Sin Yuan, Ambassador of Singapore
- His Excellency Dató Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Bin Anthony, Ambassador of Malaysia
- His Excellency Agus Widjojo, Ambassador of Indonesia
- Her Excellency Megawati Manan, Ambassador of Brunei
During their visit, the ambassadors held a constructive dialogue with Maj. Gen. Gumiran, focusing on the ongoing peace and security efforts in Central Mindanao, particularly within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Both sides underscored the critical link between peace and economic development, highlighting how each contributes to the sustainability of the other.
The visit included a tour of the 6ID Peace Museum, where the delegation was briefed on the Division’s achievements in peacebuilding. These include collaborative efforts with local government units and peace-inclined groups that have helped stabilize the region and create space for development initiatives.
Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, accompanied the ambassadors during the visit. Earlier in the day, the delegation also held engagements with BARMM officials in Cotabato City, reinforcing international partnerships for inclusive growth and lasting peace.

Their visit not only highlights continuing diplomatic engagement in the region but also affirms the 6th Infantry Division’s role as a pivotal player in promoting peace, stability, and economic opportunity in BARMM.
This high-level mission reinforces the broader commitment of regional partners to help sustain peace dividends in Southern Philippines—benefiting local communities and advancing regional security and cooperation.
