Marawi City, Philippines — In a show of unwavering commitment to the welfare of its constituents, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur (PLGU-LDS), under the leadership of Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr., has once again deployed a dedicated medical team to support Filipino pilgrims from the province participating in the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

This yearly initiative underscores the PLGU-LDS’s strong sense of responsibility to the Muslim community, particularly those undertaking the spiritually significant but physically demanding journey. The medical team, composed of healthcare professionals from the Provincial Health Office, is working closely with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) to provide essential health services throughout the pilgrimage.

Among the services offered are regular health monitoring, emergency medical care, and overall wellness support—especially vital given the harsh desert climate, the rigorous nature of the Hajj rituals, and the presence of elderly pilgrims in the group.

The Provincial Government also expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and the NCMF for sponsoring additional medical personnel. Their support has helped enhance the team’s ability to provide wider and more responsive care during the pilgrimage.

Governor Adiong emphasized that the deployment is more than just logistical assistance; it reflects the provincial government’s continuing commitment to compassionate and inclusive governance—ensuring that Maranao pilgrims are not only prepared for their journey but are also accompanied and supported every step of the way.

“This is our way of showing that public service knows no boundaries,” said Governor Adiong. “We are with our people not just in times of need, but also in moments of faith.”

The annual medical mission has become a hallmark of the PLGU-LDS’s institutional support for the Hajj, aligning public service with the community’s religious values.

Eid Mubarak to all Muslims, and may Allah (SWT) accept our ibadah in this blessed season.
