Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – June 11, 2025 — A 46-year-old fisherman was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Sultan Naga Dimaporo Municipal Police Station (SND MPS) on Tuesday evening in Barangay Pikalawag, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte.

The operation, carried out at around 6:40 PM in Purok 6 under PDEA Pre-Ops No. 30002-062025-0218, led to the apprehension of the suspect after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer posing as a buyer. The confiscated sachet contained a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 1.0 gram, with a street value of PHP 6,800. It was accompanied by a piece of folded aluminum foil.

During a follow-up body search, police recovered additional items from the suspect, including another sachet of suspected shabu weighing about 0.1 gram (estimated value: PHP 680), a piece of aluminum foil, two PHP 100 bills used as buy-bust money, a disposable lighter, and a black pouch.

In total, authorities confiscated 1.1 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 7,480.

The operation was conducted in an orderly manner, with two barangay officials and a media representative witnessing the procedure to ensure transparency.

Charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect, who is currently in the custody of SND MPS.

The seized items have been submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) for further examination.

PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, LDN PPO Provincial Director, lauded the operating team for their successful operation and reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to eradicating illegal drugs in the province.

“This operation underscores the relentless commitment of the LDN PPO in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice,” Magsalay said.

The police continue to call for community support and cooperation in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
