A Tapestry of Tradition and Talent

Named after the T’nalak cloth, a sacred woven textile of the Tboli people, the T’nalak Festival is more than just a celebration—it’s a living showcase of the province’s diverse cultural identity. Kicking off the festivities on July 5, the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center will host the Open Latin Dancesport Workshop and Elimination Round, followed by the NALAK Latin Dancesport & Team Formation Competition on July 6. The same evening, the “Rakrakan sa T’nalak” Food Garden & Strip opens, lighting up the Sports Complex with flavors, freedom, and festivities, including the vibrant LGBTQIA+ Freedom Night.

Music, Movement, and Merrymaking

Expect the city to pulse with rhythm as nightly competitions and concerts begin on July 7 with the Singing Duo Elimination Rounds, local band performances, and a City of Koronadal’s Night on July 9. For folk dance lovers, the 3rd Saot Folk Dance Competition on July 10 brings graceful heritage moves to the stage.

A Grand Civic Opening and Cultural Explosion

July 11 marks the formal opening day with a Civic-Military Parade and Float Competition along Gensan Drive. This is followed by the Thematic Dance Competition: T’nalak Broadway Beats and the grand opening of Panubli: Exhibit of South Cotabato Weaves on Alunan Avenue. Don’t miss the Bahay Kubo Display Competition, Singing Duo Grand Finale, and a dazzling Fireworks Display to cap the night.

Adrenaline and Elegance Collide

For thrill-seekers, Motocross races (July 12–13), the T’nalak Shoot Fest, and the intense Mixed Martial Arts Slugfest (July 17) are must-sees. Meanwhile, the elegant Mutya ng South Cotabato Grand Coronation Night on July 12 will showcase the grace and intelligence of South Cotabateñas.

Celebrating Farmers, Workers, and Artisans

On July 15–16, the spotlight shifts to the lifeblood of South Cotabato—its farmers—during the Farm Walk and Farmer’s Festival in Banga. A Job Fair will run simultaneously, reflecting the festival’s commitment to economic empowerment.

Foodies should mark their calendars for July 17’s Weaving Flavors of the South, a culinary journey at The Farm at Carpenter Hill, while photographers can sharpen their skills at the T’nalak Photography Workshop.

The Street Dancing Spectacle

The festival’s crown jewel, the T’nalak Street Dancing Parade and Grand Showdown, ignites the streets on July 18 with bursts of color, chant, and cultural pride. The celebration concludes with the Foundation Anniversary Program and a final Fireworks Display that will light up the South Cotabato sky.
