Maasim, Sarangani Province – May 21, 2025 — Police operatives arrested one of Sarangani’s most wanted individuals during a joint operation conducted in Barangay Poblacion, Maasim town.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Abo,” 34 years old, married, and a resident of Purok 7, Linao. He was apprehended by personnel from the Maasim Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the leadership of PMAJ Herman J. Luna, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division (RID 12), Sarangani Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU), RID 12 Tracker Team Alpha, 1204th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 12, and the Maasim Maritime Police Precinct.
“Abo” is listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person in the province and is facing charges for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which pertains to the possession of dangerous drugs. The case was filed before the Regional Trial Court Branch 23, 11th Judicial Region in General Santos City, with a recommended bail of ₱200,000.00.
The warrant of arrest was issued on March 1, 2021, but the suspect had eluded capture until the successful operation this week.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Maasim MPS for documentation and subsequent legal proceedings.
