TUPI, South Cotabato — A 60-year-old man listed as one of the region’s most wanted fugitives was arrested on May 24, 2025, in a joint police operation in Barangay Poblacion, Tupi.
The suspect, known only by his alias “Tatang,” was apprehended in Purok 10-B, San Isidro, by operatives from the Tupi Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st South Cotabato Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 1205th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12. All units are under the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office and Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12).
Authorities carried out the arrest based on a standing Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Qualified Rape, with no bail recommended.
The suspect is currently detained at the Tupi Municipal Police Station for documentation and appropriate legal procedures.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, emphasized the significance of the arrest, stating, “This arrest is a clear message that justice will always catch up with those who commit heinous crimes. We remain relentless in our pursuit of fugitives and our duty to protect the vulnerable.”
Police said the operation is part of their ongoing campaign to apprehend high-profile suspects and ensure public safety in the region.
