“We are fully prepared to carry out our mandate with integrity and discipline,” said Col. Borgonia. “Task Group ‘Pata’ stands ready to protect the democratic rights of the people of Pata and ensure the conduct of secure, accurate, free, and fair elections.”
Brigadier General Alaric Avelino Delos Santos, Commander of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade, underscored the importance of the deployment, noting that it reflects Joint Task Force (JTF) Orion’s unwavering commitment to upholding democratic processes and securing the will of the people.
“Through Task Group ‘Pata,’ we aim to guarantee that every voter in the island municipality can exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation,” Brig. Gen. Delos Santos stated. “We urge the public to cooperate with our forces and report any threats to peace and order.”
He added that the military recognizes the unique challenges posed by the area’s geography and security concerns but remains confident in the capabilities and resolve of the deployed personnel.
