Koronadal City, South Cotabato — A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested and over ₱346,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, at Purok Matulungin, Barangay GPS.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Bado,” a 28-year-old resident of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat, was apprehended in a joint operation involving the Koronadal City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of South Cotabato Police Provincial Office, and the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 12.
Authorities seized two sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 51 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱346,800, based on the National Standard Drug Price.
The suspect is currently under police custody at the Koronadal City Police Station, where charges related to the violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, commended the operating units for the successful apprehension and emphasized the police force’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
“PRO 12 reaffirms its commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations across the region. This successful operation stands as clear evidence of the unfaltering dedication of our personnel in safeguarding the community from the dangers posed by illegal drugs,” Ardiente said in a statement.
Police authorities continue to urge the public to cooperate and report any suspicious drug-related activities to aid in the region’s fight against illegal drugs.
