Malungon, Sarangani Province — A joint law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a high-profile suspect listed as the Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level on April 25, 2025, authorities confirmed.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the Malungon Municipal Police Station (MPS) in close coordination with the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group Mindanao Field Unit (AKG MFU) Davao Southern Operations, the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) Sarangani, and the 1st Company of the Sarangani Provincial Mobile Force Company (SPMFC).

The suspect, identified only by his alias “Jeff,” a 39-year-old farmer from Purok 2, Sitio Basak, Barangay Malandag, was apprehended under a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 46 in Alabel, Sarangani Province. The warrant, dated April 23, 2025, was issued for violations of Section 28(A) of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Authorities disclosed that the charges carry recommended bail amounts of Php 100,000 for the firearms violation and Php 200,000 for the drug-related offense.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers ensured that “Jeff” was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood. He was subsequently brought to Sarangani Provincial Hospital – Malungon for a medical and physical examination before being placed under the custody of Malungon MPS for proper disposition.

The Sarangani Police Provincial Office (PPO) emphasized its continued dedication to upholding the law and ensuring justice through coordinated and lawful operations.

“This successful operation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to rid our communities of individuals who pose a threat to public safety,” the Sarangani PPO stated in an official release.

Further investigation is ongoing as authorities prepare to file the necessary legal actions against the suspect.
