General Santos City, April 3, 2025 — In a major victory in the fight against illegal drugs, police authorities arrested a Top 10 Most Wanted Person at the regional level, known only by his alias “Rick,” during an operation on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect, 48, a resident of Orillano Homes in Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City, was apprehended at around 4:20 p.m. along Makar Highway in Barangay Labangal. The operation was jointly conducted by personnel from Police Station 1, the City Intelligence Unit, and the Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the General Santos City Police Office, with support from the Anti-Kidnapping Group Mindanao Field Unit – Davao Satellite Office.
Alias Rick was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 55 for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities said no bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken to Police Station 1 for documentation and further legal procedures.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, praised the coordinated efforts of the operating units. “We will continue to intensify our operations to ensure that justice is served and peace prevails in our communities,” he said.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on illegal drug activities across the region, warning that no one is above the law.
