MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities arrested three suspected drug personalities and seized more than P211,000 worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation conducted on April 21, 2025, in Sitio Tigbawan, Barangay Can-ayan.

The operation, led by Malaybalay City Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit 10, resulted in the apprehension of three suspects identified only by their aliases: “Ryan,” 33, who is reportedly on the watchlist; “Nonoy,” 30; and “Kokong,” 57. All three are farmers and residents of the area.

Police recovered six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing a total of 30.15 grams with an estimated street value of P205,020. In addition, authorities confiscated one sachet of dried marijuana leaves weighing 55 grams, valued at P6,600.

Other items believed to be linked to illegal drug activities were also seized, including a belt bag, a digital weighing scale, and a P1,000 bill used as marked money for the transaction.

The suspects were brought to the Malaybalay City Police Station for proper documentation, while the confiscated drugs were turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director, lauded the successful operation, emphasizing the police force’s continued efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.

“The success of this operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our law enforcers to eradicate illegal drugs from our communities. This is more than just an accomplishment; it is a clear warning to those who continue to defy the law that there is no place for illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao,” De Guzman said.

Authorities assured that intensified anti-drug operations will persist across the region to curb the spread of illegal substances.
