Isabela City, Basilan – April 4, 2025 — In a concerted move to ensure peaceful and orderly National and Local Elections this May, the 101st Infantry (Three Red Arrows) Brigade joined key government and security agencies in the Provincial Joint Security Coordinating Conference (PJSCC) held at the SP Hall, Provincial Capitol.
Led by Brigadier General Alvin V. Luzon, Commander of the 101st Infantry Brigade, the military unit presented its comprehensive security plan in coordination with the Basilan Provincial Police Office (BPPO). The conference brought together representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard, and F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc.
The event aimed to solidify inter-agency efforts to uphold a secure, honest, and credible electoral process in the province. Discussions focused on refining deployment strategies, enhancing coordination mechanisms, and addressing potential election-related threats.
Acting Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Muamar A. Guyo facilitated the conference, emphasizing the importance of a united front among stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of the elections.
Brig. Gen. Luzon expressed the military’s unwavering support for democratic processes, stating, “This conference highlights our proactive approach to addressing security challenges and election-related concerns. It is a significant step towards a more unified and effective security framework in Basilan. We remain committed to working hand in hand with our partners to ensure a peaceful and secure electoral process.”
Also in attendance were key officials from the military and police, including Col. Frederick M. Sales, Deputy Brigade Commander; Lt. Col. Adolf Ian M. Garceron of the 4th Special Forces Battalion; Lt. Col. Mark Serapion L. Lagud of the 18th Infantry Battalion; Lt. Col. Edmond Lanzar of the 32nd Infantry Battalion; and Lt. Col. Franco Baylon of the 45th Infantry Battalion. Police Lt. Col. Javer J. Muin represented the BPPO Provincial Director, along with various chiefs of police from the province’s municipalities and cities.
The conference underscored the strong collaboration among institutions in Basilan, with a shared goal of protecting the democratic rights of the electorate and ensuring that the upcoming elections proceed without incident.
