Davao Oriental – April 22, 2025 — The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental warmly received representatives from the Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC) today in a courtesy visit and coordination meeting held at the Provincial Capitol Conference Hall.

Representing the provincial leadership were Provincial Administrator Atty. Al Aquino and Everendo Esver, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Governor’s Office. The visiting delegation from OOBC presented their upcoming initiatives, particularly the planned implementation of the Other Bangsamoro Communities Mapping and Needs Assessment (OBC-MANA) in areas with significant Bangsamoro populations, including Davao Oriental.

OBC-MANA is one of OOBC’s key programs that aims to gather comprehensive data on the strengths, resources, assets, and needs of various communities. The results will serve as a foundation for policy recommendations, research, program development, and planning, ensuring that future interventions are data-driven and responsive.

The Bangsamoro Government emphasized that its services are inclusive and intended for all sectors, regardless of religion or political affiliation. This inclusive approach reflects BARMM’s commitment to delivering meaningful assistance not only to Bangsamoro communities but to the broader population as well.

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental expressed enthusiasm and strong support for the initiative, welcoming the opportunity for partnership with BARMM. Local officials view the collaboration as a promising step towards enhancing social services and community development in the province.

Both the BARMM and Davao Oriental governments conveyed their optimism and mutual commitment to the forthcoming rollout of the program, which includes the implementation of the Regional OBC-MANA. Davao Oriental is expected to play a key role in this regional initiative.

This coordination marks a significant move toward inter-governmental cooperation aimed at inclusive development and empowerment of marginalized communities across the region.
