DAVAO CITY — In a strong display of unity and commitment to democracy, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of Acting City Director PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, successfully concluded a three-day Coordination Meeting with all 182 Barangay Captains from the city’s three districts.

Held from April 14 to 16, 2025, at the DCPO Main Building, Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor, the gathering aimed to strengthen grassroots leadership and foster close coordination among key stakeholders to ensure the smooth, safe, and orderly conduct of the upcoming National and Local Elections (NLE) 2025.

The event brought together Barangay Captains or their representatives, Task Force Davao, the Public Safety and Security Office, COMELEC Region XI, and Election Officers from across the city. The collaboration emphasized proactive planning and partnership to uphold public safety and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

A key moment during the meeting was the signing of a Solidarity Pledge — a collective vow to protect and uphold a free, fair, and peaceful election. This symbolic gesture reinforced the shared responsibility of local leaders and security forces in fostering a safe environment where every citizen’s voice can be heard and respected.

PCOL Marantan expressed his deep gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, underlining the importance of collaboration in maintaining peace and order during the election season.

“Isang beses sa bawat tatlong taon naririnig ang boses ng ating mga kababayan—protektahan natin sila upang ang kanilang pagpapasya ay manaig,” Marantan reminded everyone, emphasizing the role of leaders in securing the people’s right to choose freely.

With this unified commitment, Davao City stands firm in its mission to safeguard democracy and public safety, ensuring the upcoming elections will be a true reflection of the people’s will.

Mabuhay ang Davao City! Mabuhay ang Sambayanang Pilipino!
