MULONDO, Lanao del Sur — A routine checkpoint operation by the Mulondo Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug courier on April 17, 2025, in Barangay Ilian.
Personnel from the Mulondo MPS were conducting a COMELEC checkpoint at around 12:25 PM when they flagged down a single motorcycle driven by a resident of Barangay Bubong Guilopa, Mulondo. Upon being approached by the authorities, the suspect was seen pulling an item from his belt bag and dropping it beneath his motorcycle. Upon inspection, the item was found to be a sachet containing a crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Seized from the suspect were one heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.6 grams, with an estimated street value of Php 10,880.00. Authorities also confiscated a black belt bag, five identification cards, two ATM cards, two lighters, and a blue Kymco motorcycle without a license plate.
An on-site physical inventory of the confiscated items was conducted, witnessed by a barangay official as required by law. The suspect and the recovered evidence were later brought to the Mulondo MPS for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, commended the Mulondo police personnel for their vigilance and commitment to maintaining peace and order in the community through sustained law enforcement operations.
The suspect is now facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
