Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), led by Provincial Director Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, commended law enforcement teams for two successful anti-drug operations conducted in Molundo and Wao towns, resulting in the arrest of two drug suspects and the seizure of illegal substances and other evidence.

Molundo Drug Bust

On January 8, 2025, at around 10:30 AM, personnel of the Molundo Municipal Police Station (MPS) carried out a buy-bust operation in Barangay Rayabalay, Molundo. This operation led to the arrest of a suspect identified as alias “Kabuga,” a local resident.

Authorities confiscated the following items from the suspect:

  • Buy-bust item: One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 0.3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of Php2,040.
  • Additional evidence: A zipped plastic container holding three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.7 grams with a value of Php11,560, buy-bust money, a black sunglasses pouch with a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, and three disposable lighters.

The total amount of seized shabu weighed approximately 2 grams with an estimated street value of Php13,600. The suspect was informed of his rights in a language he understood and was brought, along with the confiscated evidence, to Molundo MPS for appropriate legal procedures.

Wao Checkpoint Arrest

In a separate operation, on January 9, 2025, at around 7:31 PM, a checkpoint along the National Highway in Barangay Katutungan, Wao, resulted in the arrest of another drug suspect. This operation was carried out by Wao MPS in coordination with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG), and 3rd Platoon, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of LDSPPO.

The arrested suspect, a resident of Barangay Manilao, Banisilan, North Cotabato, was found in possession of:

  • One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 2 grams of suspected shabu, valued at Php13,600.
  • Php340 cash in various denominations.
  • A Samsung cellphone.
  • A Bajaj CT100 motorcycle without a plate number.

The suspect and the confiscated evidence were taken to Wao MPS for proper documentation and further investigation.

Colonel Daculan lauded the dedication and teamwork displayed by the operating units, emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts in combating the illegal drug trade in the province. The LDSPPO remains committed to maintaining peace and order while ensuring that justice is served.
