ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – The Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office (ZSBPPO) has commended an elected government official for his responsible action of voluntarily depositing his firearm with an expired registration at the Olutanga Municipal Police Station (MPS) on March 9, 2025.
The firearm, a PISTOL ITHACA cal. 45 with serial number NO2300333, was turned over without a magazine and ammunition. This proactive step reflects the official’s commitment to adhering to firearms regulations and contributing to public safety.
PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, Provincial Director of ZSBPPO, praised the official’s action, stating, “The ZSBPPO is dedicated to promoting responsible gun ownership and ensuring the safety of our communities. We commend the official for his responsible actions in depositing his expired firearm. This act sets a positive example for others who may possess firearms with expired registrations.”
