Balindong, Lanao del Sur – A joint law enforcement operation led by the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) successfully apprehended two drug suspects in Barangay Lombayao, Balindong, Lanao del Sur on March 7, 2024, at around 5:45 PM.

The operation was carried out by personnel from the Balindong Municipal Police Station (MPS), along with units from the Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) LDSPPO, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14A (RMFB14A), and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC). PCOL Robert S. Daculan, LDSPPO Provincial Director, commended the officers for their efforts in the successful anti-drug operation.

Authorities identified the two arrested suspects as residents of Barangay Maul, Marantao, Lanao del Sur. Seized from their possession were 18 small transparent sachets containing suspected shabu, with an estimated total weight of one gram and a street value of PHP 6,800. Additionally, police recovered an unsealed sachet containing suspected drug residue, a PHP 500 bill marked as buy-bust money, PHP 2,600.40 in different denominations, a black Oppo cellular phone, a driver’s license, four aluminum foils, and a light green Suzuki Multicab.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with the necessary legal documents being prepared for filing in court.

Local authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations to curb illegal drug activities in the province. They also urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help maintain peace and order in the community.
