Iligan City authorities arrested three individuals in separate anti-drug operations on February 24 and 25, 2025. The operations, conducted by various police units, resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs worth thousands of pesos.
In a buy-bust operation at 6:27 PM on February 25 in Purok 3, Barangay Saray, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) apprehended a suspect identified as alias “Joseph.” He was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to an undercover operative. Authorities also confiscated six additional sachets of illegal drugs from his possession. Joseph had previously been arrested for a similar drug-related offense.
Meanwhile, at around 7:23 PM in Barangay Tambacan, a motorcycle rider identified as alias “Mico” was stopped at a police checkpoint for driving while wearing slippers. Upon being approached, he attempted to dispose of two sachets of suspected shabu. Police officers recovered the evidence, leading to his immediate arrest.
Another suspect, identified as alias “Elmer,” was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by Precinct 4 operatives at 3:03 PM on February 24 in Purok 8, Barangay Luinab. Originally from Purok 3, Barangay Tambacan, Elmer sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P200 to an undercover agent. Upon his arrest, authorities seized 25 grams of illegal drugs valued at approximately P170,000. He has been classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) by law enforcement.
During the operation, three individuals suspected of being Elmer’s drug runners were caught in the act of using illegal drugs. All four are currently detained at Precinct 4 as authorities prepare charges against them.
The Iligan City Police Office continues its intensified campaign against illegal drugs, urging the public to report any suspicious activities to aid in their mission of maintaining peace and order in the community.
