March 13, 2025 – Lanao del Sur – The Provincial Gender and Development (PGAD) Office remains steadfast in its commitment to combating violence against women and children as it continues its campaign beyond the annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). This year, PGAD is actively distributing essential equipment to Women and Children Protection Desks (WCPD) across police stations in Lanao del Sur.
Under the leadership of Ms. Alliah K. Lucman, GAD Focal Person, and in collaboration with PCPt Esnairah M. Lucman and their team, PGAD has conducted visits to police stations in Saguiaran, Piagapo, and Marawi City. These visits aim to provide necessary resources that will enhance the capacity of WCPDs in handling VAWC cases effectively.
During their visit to the Piagapo Municipal Police Station, the team had the opportunity to meet with PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Police Director of Lanao del Sur, who was also conducting an inspection. His presence underscored the importance of strengthening local law enforcement’s role in protecting women and children from abuse and exploitation.
PGAD’s ongoing initiative ensures that all municipalities in Lanao del Sur are well-equipped to offer support services to victims of VAWC. By providing necessary tools and resources, the office continues to reinforce its advocacy for safer communities and a stronger institutional response to gender-based violence.
As the campaign progresses, PGAD remains dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and protective environment for vulnerable sectors, demonstrating that the fight against VAWC extends beyond a single annual event and requires continuous action and commitment.
