Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – A drug suspect was arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Marawi City Police Station (MCPS) in Barangay Luks a Datu, Marawi City, at around 11:00 PM on March 21, 2025.
Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), commended the operating unit personnel for their efforts in the law enforcement operation against illegal drugs.
Authorities seized two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated weight of approximately 100 grams. The confiscated drugs have a standard drug price (SDP) of Php 680,000.00. Buy-bust money was also recovered from the suspect.
The arrested individual, a resident of Barangay Luks a Datu, was informed of his constitutional rights in a dialect familiar to him. Law enforcement officials conducted an inventory of the seized evidence in the presence of the suspect, an elected barangay official, and a Department of Justice (DOJ) representative.
The suspect, along with the confiscated pieces of evidence, was brought to the Marawi City Police Station for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
The operation reflects the ongoing efforts of local authorities to combat illegal drugs and maintain peace and order in the region.
