Davao del Norte – A successful drug buy-bust operation conducted on March 14, 2025, in Purok 15, HRC Compound, Barangay Madaum, Tagum City, led to the arrest of a high-value drug suspect identified as alias “Neneng.” The suspect has been listed as the Top 10 regional-level High-Value Individual (HVI) in illegal drug operations.
Authorities confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP 714,000.00 during the operation. Additionally, law enforcement officers seized various items, including:
- One large rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance
- One large knotted transparent plastic ice wrapper containing a white crystalline substance
- One PhP 1,000 bill with 19 photocopied bills
- One white Suzuki mini van
- One brown sling bag
- One torn Penshoppe paper bag
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is being prepared for inquest proceedings.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI (RPDEU XI) spearheaded the operation in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Tagum City Police Station, 1st Davao Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st DNPMFC), Davao Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (DNPDEU), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit – Davao Norte Police Provincial Office (PIU-DNPPO).
PBGEN LEON VICTOR Z. ROSETE, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), commended the efforts of the operating units in their unwavering commitment to combating illegal drug activities. He reaffirmed PRO 11’s support for PNP Chief, PGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO D. MARBIL, in implementing a holistic approach to drug enforcement—one that not only aims to suppress drug-related crimes but also tackles their root causes.
Authorities continue to strengthen their anti-drug campaigns, emphasizing intelligence-driven operations and community engagement to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region.
