Pantukan, Davao de Oro – A barangay official was arrested in an anti-drug operation on Monday morning, March 24, 2025, in Purok Matinabangon C, Barangay Kingking. The buy-bust operation, conducted around 10:30 AM, was led by the Pantukan Municipal Police Station in collaboration with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Authorities identified the suspect as a 45-year-old barangay captain, classified as a high-value individual (HVI) in the campaign against illegal drugs. During the operation, law enforcers seized suspected shabu, buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and a gray Suzuki minivan. Proper marking and inventory of the confiscated items were conducted on-site, in the presence of mandatory witnesses and the suspect.
The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5, 11, and 12 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with inquest proceedings already underway.
The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office reiterated its commitment to the anti-drug campaign, emphasizing that no one is above the law. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities as part of efforts to create safer, drug-free communities in the province.
