TUBOD, Lanao del Norte—The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office (PARO) on February 19, 2025, at the Provincial Capitol Site in Pigcarangan.
Leading the event was Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo, alongside 2nd District Congresswoman Sittie Aminah Dimaporo. Also in attendance were Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Regional Director Zoraida Omar Macadindang, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers (PARPO) Marie Vil Codilla, JD, and Shorayah Ali, JD, as well as District Engineer Aly Khan Ali of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Lanao del Norte.
Congresswoman Aminah played a pivotal role in securing funding for the project, allocating P30 million to support its construction. This initiative aligns with a bill proposed by 1st District Congressman Khalid Dimaporo, which seeks to relocate national line agency offices to the center of Lanao del Norte to enhance accessibility and service delivery.
Governor Angging emphasized the necessity of relocating national agency offices to Lanao del Norte, underscoring the need for improved service delivery to local residents. “It’s about time na you have to move because you are rendering your services to the people of Lanao del Norte,” she stated.
The provincial government has further demonstrated its commitment by providing the necessary land for the new facility. Once completed, the office will significantly enhance services for over 35,000 DAR beneficiaries across the province, streamlining agrarian reform processes and ensuring more efficient government support for local farmers.
Regional Director Macadindang highlighted the responsibility that comes with this development, stressing the importance of delivering essential services to agrarian reform beneficiaries. “With these blessings to us, kinahanglan nga ato sad pagasuklian, and that is to deliver the goods, deliver the mandate required from us—ang mga support services nga dapat ipang hatag nato saatong mga Agrarian Reform beneficiaries for the purpose na ma increase ang ilang household income,” she said.
The establishment of the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office reflects the government’s dedication to strengthening agricultural development in Lanao del Norte. It forms part of the provincial government’s Vision 2040, aiming to uplift agrarian reform beneficiaries, foster economic growth, and promote sustainable agricultural practices across the province.
