Zamboanga Sibugay – February 13, 2025 – A former supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the 2nd Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company, marking another step in the government’s efforts to end insurgency in the region.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Flint S. Depnag, Force Commander of the 2nd Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company, identified the surrenderer as alias “Evic,” a 59-year-old woman and resident of Purok Bombil 2, Barangay Kipit, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.
According to authorities, Evic was previously affiliated with the Militia ng Bayan under the Guerilla Front Committee. She decided to surrender in pursuit of a peaceful and stable life with her family.
Under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration, the government continues its intensified campaign to end insurgency. The Philippine National Police (PNP) encourages remaining members and supporters of CTGs to reintegrate into society and take advantage of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which provides assistance to former rebels as they transition to civilian life.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to fostering unity and peace, urging others to embrace the government’s programs and work together towards a more progressive and insurgency-free Philippines.
