Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay — A 17-year-old supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the authorities of the Kabasalan Municipal Police Station in Barangay Tampilisan on January 15, 2025.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Flint S. Depnag, Provincial Director of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, identified the surrenderer as “Biboy” (not his real name), a male resident of the area.
“Biboy” was a former supporter of the CTG under the Mobile Regional Guerilla Unit (MRGU) operating within the Guerilla Section Committee, SECOM Feliciano “B.” He reportedly decided to abandon the group in pursuit of a peaceful and stable life with his family.
As an initial form of assistance, the young returnee received a sack of rice from the authorities.
This development aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s initiative to eradicate insurgency through programs such as the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). The Philippine National Police continues to encourage remaining CTG members and supporters to return to the fold of the law and take part in building a unified and progressive nation under the “Bagong Pilipinas” agenda.
Authorities assured that “Biboy” would be given further assistance under E-CLIP to facilitate his reintegration into society.
