CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – In a major push to curb illegal drug activities, Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 conducted two successful operations in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of over 62 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated PhP424,320.00.
A joint operation between the Libona Municipal Police Station and the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office’s Intelligence Unit apprehended two suspects, identified as alias “Macmac,” 34, and alias “Apo,” 28, both residents of Libona, Bukidnon. According to police investigations, the suspects relied solely on drug peddling as their primary source of income.
Authorities confiscated eight sachets of varying sizes containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. The seized drugs weighed a total of 22 grams and had an estimated market value of PhP149,600.00. Additional drug paraphernalia were also recovered during the operation.
In a separate incident, personnel from Police Station 1 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) arrested a 59-year-old sikad driver, identified as alias “Toto,” during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City. Investigations revealed that aside from being a sikad driver, Toto was involved in the illegal drug trade to supplement his livelihood.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of 19 sachets of various sizes containing suspected shabu, with a total weight of 40.4 grams and an estimated street value of PhP274,720.00. Drug paraphernalia were also recovered.
The suspects and the seized items have been brought to their respective police stations for documentation, with all evidence set to undergo examination by the Regional Forensic Unit 10. Criminal charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO 10, lauded the operatives for their swift and efficient work.
