A coordinated operation between the Philippine National Police (PNP) Catarman Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 10, Camiguin Provincial Office, culminated in the successful arrest of a drug suspect in Barangay Looc, Catarman, Camiguin, on January 14, 2025.

The buy-bust operation resulted in the seizure of approximately one gram of shabu, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of ₱6,800. The suspect, a 43-year-old resident of Looc identified by the alias “Leonardo,” was taken into custody.

“Leonardo” now faces charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The arrest underscores the unwavering dedication of PNP Catarman and PDEA RO-10 to eradicating illegal drug activities in the region.

In light of this accomplishment, PDEA RO-10 has reiterated its call for public vigilance. The agency encourages citizens to report any drug-related activities to their nearest law enforcement office or through PDEA’s hotline.

“Together, we can build a drug-free community in Camiguin,” a PDEA official stated, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combating the illegal drug menace.
