Pikit, Cotabato — Three suspected carnappers were apprehended during a hot pursuit operation conducted by authorities in Pikit, Cotabato, following the forcible theft of a motorcycle from its owner.

According to the Pikit Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred around 8:00 AM on December 9, 2024, when the victim reported that three suspects had forcibly taken his motorcycle after pretending to be buyers.

In response, a collaborative hot pursuit operation was launched by the Pikit PNP, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14, PRO BAR, the 3rd PCMFC, and the 40th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army. The efforts led to the immediate arrest of one suspect, identified as alias “Haris,” in Fort Pikit, Maledegao, SGA BARMM. Seized from Haris were 82 counterfeit Php1,000 bills, a master key, and the stolen motorcycle.

The following morning, December 10, 2024, authorities cornered two more suspects, identified as alias “Prince” and alias “Ali Matindo,” in Dalingoen, Pikit, Cotabato. Recovered from the duo were a .45-caliber pistol loaded with a single bullet, a magazine with eight rounds of ammunition, their getaway vehicle, and eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing a total of 1.2 grams, valued at Php6,000.

Authorities are now preparing multiple charges against the three suspects. Meanwhile, the police continue to urge the public to report any criminal activities in their localities promptly.
