Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) achieved a significant milestone during its one-week law enforcement operation from December 5 to 11, 2024, apprehending a total of 116 individuals across Northern Mindanao.

The intensified campaign involved 57 operations targeting various criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of 64 individuals linked to illegal drugs. Authorities confiscated 368.89 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP 2,508,452.

Crackdown on Illegal Gambling

Eight operations against illegal gambling led to the apprehension of 11 individuals and the confiscation of PHP 3,143 worth of gambling paraphernalia.

Arrest of Wanted Persons

In its campaign against fugitives, PRO10 arrested 35 wanted individuals, including 10 classified as Most Wanted Persons and 25 others with pending warrants of arrest.

Anti-Loose Firearms Effort

The Kontra Boga initiative led to three operations, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure, surrender, or recovery of seven small firearms. Furthermore, 353 house visits under the Revitalized Katok program prompted 13 individuals to voluntarily surrender firearms for safekeeping.

Action Against Smuggled Goods

Two operations against smuggled cigarettes netted confiscations valued at PHP 9,365, further showcasing PRO10’s commitment to combating illicit trade.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the dedication and commitment of the personnel involved in the operations.

“Patuloy pong nagsusumikap ang ating kapulisan upang masugpo ang anumang uri ng kriminalidad dito sa Rehiyon Diyes. Hindi po natin hahayaang magpatuloy ang mga ilegal na gawain na maaaring magdulot ng pangamba o kaguluhan sa ating mga mamamayan,” he said, emphasizing the importance of collective action in achieving a safer and more secure future for the region’s residents.
