A decisive anti-drug operation in Barangay Central, Mati City, led to the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and the confiscation of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,020,000.00, along with firearms and other contraband.
The operation, carried out by the 2nd Davao Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd DOPMFC) and Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO), was a successful implementation of a search warrant against a suspect identified as alias “Mardy” in Purok Malipayon Liberty.
Authorities recovered several heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and an assortment of firearms and ammunition, including different calibers of rifles, firearm magazines, and live rounds. These items, along with the suspect, were taken into custody for further investigation.
Cases for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are being prepared for filing in court against the suspect.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of PRO 11, commended the unwavering dedication of his officers and emphasized the critical role of public support in the operation’s success. He reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to combating illegal drugs in the region.
“Our campaign will remain unyielding as we protect our citizens and future generations from the dangers of illegal drugs,” PBGEN Rosete said.
The operation marks another milestone in the fight against illegal drugs, showcasing the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community to uphold peace and order in Davao Oriental.
