CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – In a significant development in the fight against illegal drugs, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and personnel from the Valencia City Police Station successfully apprehended a High-Value Individual (HVI) and a minor during a buy-bust operation on December 29, 2024. The operation took place in Purok 2, Barangay Pinatilan, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
The suspects were identified as alias “Win2x,” an 18-year-old unemployed resident of Purok 3, Colonia, Valencia City, and a 16-year-old male student from the same locality. Authorities disclosed that alias “Win2x” had been selling illegal drugs as his primary source of income, with the minor acting as his assistant.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized the following items:
- Six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 59.1 grams, with a Standard Drug Price of PhP401,880.00.
- Two black foot socks and two tin cans used as containers for the illegal drugs.
- One unit of an android phone.
- Two motorcycles.
- A PhP500.00 bill used as buy-bust money.
The suspects and the confiscated evidence were taken to the Valencia City Police Station (CPS) for proper documentation. The minor was subsequently turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) office for appropriate intervention. Meanwhile, the confiscated substances were sent to the Provincial Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examinations.
Authorities are preparing cases for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. 9165) against the suspects.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), commended the law enforcement units for their tireless efforts in combating illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.
“I congratulate the operating units involved in the successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a substantial amount of illegal drugs. This highlights our continuous dedication to fighting the drug menace in Northern Mindanao. Let us stay vigilant and united in our efforts to safeguard our communities from the dangers of illegal substances,” PBGEN De Guzman said.
PRO10 reiterated its commitment to combating illegal drugs through strategic intelligence operations and strengthened collaboration with law enforcement agencies and community partners. The office urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help sustain the fight against illegal drugs.
