The provincial government of Camiguin has officially turned over and blessed the newly constructed Camiguin Women and Children Crisis Center, located at the Government Center in Lakas, Poblacion, Mambajao. This milestone underscores the province’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and safety of its residents, particularly women and children in need of support and protection.
The crisis center boasts modern facilities designed to provide a secure and nurturing environment for vulnerable individuals seeking help. With state-of-the-art amenities, the center aims to ensure comprehensive care and assistance for women and children facing crises.
Strengthening Public Safety with CCTV Systems
In addition to the crisis center, the formal turnover ceremony also included the inauguration of a new CCTV system. These surveillance units have been installed at the Cong. Pedro P. Romualdo Sports Complex and the Ugmad Site, enhancing public safety and monitoring capabilities across the province. First utilized during the 2024 Lanzones Festival, the CCTV system demonstrated its effectiveness in ensuring the security of major events and public activities.
This initiative forms part of Camiguin’s broader efforts to promote peace and order in the province. By bolstering surveillance and monitoring systems, the provincial government seeks to foster a safer and more secure environment for its residents and visitors.

The establishment of the crisis center and the installation of the CCTV systems were made possible through funds awarded to Camiguin as a recipient of the prestigious Seals of Good Local Governance in 2022 and 2023. These accolades reflect the province’s exemplary governance and dedication to the well-being of its people.
