Authorities from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-SarGen are actively working to identify the remains of two men buried in a cornfield located in Purok 5, Barangay Baluntay, Alabel, Sarangani Province.
The discovery was made after two of four individuals arrested for illegal possession of firearms provided information about a burial site during questioning. According to CIDG-SarGen, the suspects claimed the bodies had been buried in the area for approximately four months.
Acting on this tip, CIDG-SarGen operatives, in coordination with personnel from the Alabel Municipal Police Station, conducted an excavation at the site indicated by the suspects. Their efforts led to the recovery of body parts believed to belong to the two unidentified male victims.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities aim to determine the identities of the deceased and uncover the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Forensic experts have been called in to assist with the identification process, and law enforcement officials are pursuing leads to establish whether the suspects are directly linked to the killings.
The CIDG-SarGen continues to urge the public to come forward with any information that may aid in resolving this case.
